Title: Sealer and MBB Recommendation - help
Post by: californiadreams on August 15, 2013, 10:36 am
I've read the threads about moisture barrier bags and sealers.

Just wanted to double check with the folks on SR before I make a purchase.

I'd like to start shipping to Australia.  Therefore, I would like your recommendation on the right product(s) to purchase in order to keep the K9's away.

**Clearnet Warning**
I found this sealer for moisture barrier bags - Anyone use this brand/model?
http://www.amazon.com/Weston-65-0201-Pro-2300-Vacuum-Sealer/dp/B001GP81R2/

For moisture barrier bags found this supply source - Anyone use them?
http://www.qsource.com/s-39-3m-scc-dri-shield-2000-moisture-barrier-bags.aspx

Thanks for your input!

I have used the weston professional sealer with foodsaver pe bags and it works very well. Pretty loud though, if that would be an issue for you.

My understanding is that the Weston Sealers do not work well with bags that are smooth on both sides.  Therefore, 3M mbb's will not work i guess!

3M sealers start at $2,500.00

You can find most relevant information in the first post in the thread STEALTH THAT WORKS - DITCH THE PE FOOD GRADE VAC SEAL: http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=119458

I have an old thread regarding Heat Sealers you might be interested in called Heat Sealing Equipment: http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=160856 - two low tech methods not mentioned there is a clothing iron and a hair straightener, I'm guessing the majority dealing with Mylar/MBBs use these at least to begin with. :)

Don't get a vacuum sealer to seal moisture barrier bags.  Get an impulse sealer for the win.  Any brand will do.
